Suffolk Bird Group

The Suffolk Bird Group (SBG) is an independent registered charity founded in 1973, bringing together birdwatchers of all abilities with an interest in the birds of Suffolk. The group organises a year-round programme of outdoor walks and indoor talks, and publishes The Harrier, its quarterly newsletter, as well as maintaining a monthly record of current bird sightings across the county.

SBG also manages the county’s bird recording infrastructure through the Suffolk Ornithological Records Committee (SORC), which assesses county records and oversees the production of Suffolk Birds — the annual county bird report published jointly with the SNS and received by all SNS members.

Joint membership of SNS and SBG is available at a reduced combined rate.
